We help kids learn about themselves and their power to help others. What can kids do to help others? If you ask them, they'll probably say: clean my room, babysit for my brother, take out the garbage, or walk the neighbor's dog. Good answers - for a start! But we want kids to think bigger than that. At Generation Cures, we encourage kids to see that their reach extends beyond their home, their school, and even their community.

And we think there's no better way for kids to learn than by doing what they like best - playing games, watching stories and videos, connecting with other kids, and of course, creating! The Generation Cures kids' website helps kids look at themselves and others through new eyes. Instead of asking, "What can I do for me?" they begin to ask, "What can I do for others?" The answer is: make a difference! And through Generation Cures, the difference they can make is to help sick children!

Empower

Learn subStory

We empower kids to take action to make a difference. It's easy for kids to think they can't make a difference in the world. It's equally easy for them to say, "I don't know what to do." Generation Cures wants to turn kids' thinking around and spur them into action. Our message - Kids, you can make things better. We'll show you how.

The teens in our Zebrafish web story transform from egocentric rock star wannabees to fund-raising activists, our Caduceus game hero finds a cure for the plague, and most importantly, we give your kids the power to take action - right on our site! We call it "Gaming for Good." By solving puzzles in Caduceus, kids can "activate" real gifts from parents and sponsors, gifts that will be used to support research into childhood diseases at Children's Hospital Boston. Real kids helping real kids by playing games? Exactly!

Encourage

Learn subStory

We encourage families to share the learning and take action together. Just like the kids in our Zebrafish story, all of us learn and grow when we share the caring experience. And kids learn even more when they can relate what they see to their own lives. At Generation Cures, communication is the key to success

We encourage kids and parents to talk about our stories and videos; we make it easy for them to team up to solve puzzles in our game. We also send out emails to keep parents in the learning loop and let families create profiles and kids connect with friends...

Of course, our opportunities for sharing extend to giving, too. Our "Gaming for Good" pledge lets kids partner with parents and other sponsors to activate real gifts to fund medical research. Families and friends can also become partners and give group gifts. We never forget that each person is important, yet know that when we work together, our potential to help sick kids is so much greater!
